Lucas Echeverry will be the one who, in this and every new meeting, will invite us to enjoy this space for conversation and shared learning, with the warmth of someone who opens the doors of his house and waits for us with a delicious coffee.
Episode 16: “In the skin of a judge”.
Juan Vasquez is an active national judge of Fedequinas, that is, one of the authorities that judge the Colombian Criollo horse in the equine fairs.
In this very pleasant talk, Juan told us his story from childhood, he told us about his father’s breeding farm Tongosoy in Pasto, Nariño, which had such important horses as Resorte III and La Danesa.
We talked with Juan about his job as a judge. He told us nice anecdotes that have happened to him while he has judged and allowed us to get into his skin to understand a little better the position, values and thinking of those who judge. Juan told us about the joys, difficulties, sadness and disappointments of being a horse judge in Colombia, and brought this profession closer to all of us (breeders, riders, fans and horse enthusiasts) through this sincere and heartfelt conversation.
