A life dedicated to the Paso Fino Colombiano horse | EP. 14. Hugo Pineda

Thank you Lucas for these “No Hat” meetings.

From e-quine ACADEMY we want to thank the possibility of sharing this and other contents in Podcast format that build community, amplify valuable voices and allow us to continue learning together. We are happy to open the doors to proposals like this one, which are born from the commitment, passion and experience of those who live the horse world from the inside. Lucas Echeverry will be the one who, in this and every new meeting, will invite us to enjoy this space for conversation and shared learning, with the warmth of someone who opens the doors of his house and waits for us with a delicious coffee.

Episode 14: “A life dedicated to the Paso Fino Colombiano horse”.

Hugo Pineda became a horseman sharing with his father when he was a child, and since then he has had a passion for horses that has only grown over time. His stud farm, San Isidro, founded more than 35 years ago, is one of the benchmarks of Paso Fino both in Colombia and internationally.

We talked openly with Hugo about how he breeds his horses, his breeding system, how he uses inbreeding and biotechnologies in his stud farm. We talked about chalanes, landlords and difficult decisions that have to be made about his work. Hugo also shared with us what he thinks about the judging at the fairs and how he feels the Paso Fino is going through, among many other topics of interest.
