Thank you Lucas for these “No Hat” meetings.
From e-quine ACADEMY we want to thank the possibility of sharing this and other contents in Podcast format that build community, amplify valuable voices and allow us to continue learning together. We are happy to open the doors to proposals like this one, which are born from the commitment, passion and experience of those who live the horse world from the inside. Lucas Echeverry will be the one who, in this and every new meeting, will invite us to enjoy this space for conversation and shared learning, with the warmth of someone who opens the doors of his house and waits for us with a delicious coffee.
Episode 13: “Touching the sky in the Paso horse world”.
Alex Cano is one of the most successful figures of the Colombian ChalanerÃa of all times. His talent has led him to glory, he has won all the important titles in Colombian Criollo horse competitions, both nationally and internationally.
Alex told us his story. He told us about his beginnings in his hometown, Marinilla, and how he learned the art of chalanerÃa alongside great masters such as the Franco brothers. He told us about the time when he was an independent chalán, managing his own pesebrera, and the challenges that this entailed. Alex generously told us about how he handles his horses, how he trains them, how he cares for them, and how he contemplates them. He also shared with us the history of some of the horses that have marked his career and his life: Encanto, Tourbillon, La Gitana and KaÃn. With Alex we talked about his family, his hobbies, his dreams and his career in a very natural, very human way.
