Episode 11: “Beginnings of equine surgery in Colombia”.
Ignacio Correa is a veterinarian, surgeon, university professor and founder of the first equine clinic in Colombia, the San Luis clinic in La Estrella, Antioquia.
Ignacio was a pioneer of equine surgery in the country, at a time when there was no knowledge on this subject and he was carving his own path, learning from his mistakes and generating a new path from which many professionals would learn later.
His interest in physics and mechanics, together with a great ability and intelligence, led him to become one of the referents of equine surgery in Colombia. Ignacio told us about those beginnings and how he set up his clinic with ingenuity and creativity, how they have worked as a family to make the dream of the clinic possible, and he told us about the horse of his love, Melchor, among other topics.
