Thank you Lucas for these “No Hat” meetings.

From e-quine ACADEMY we want to thank the possibility of sharing this and other contents in Podcast format that build community, amplify valuable voices and allow us to continue learning together. We are happy to open the doors to proposals like this one, which are born from the commitment, passion and experience of those who live the horse world from the inside. Lucas Echeverry will be the one who, in this and every new meeting, will invite us to enjoy this space for conversation and shared learning, with the warmth of someone who opens the doors of his house and waits for us with a delicious coffee.

Episode 21: “Equine Therapy: Changing lives through horses”.

María Gómez, better known as Mona Gómez, has been an equestrian practically all her life and has focused her professional career on teaching different equestrian disciplines. She has worked with children for many years and has complemented her knowledge of riding with various courses in pedagogy, which has made her a very skilled and very successful teacher.

La Mona spent many years at the Asdesilla Foundation applying a technique not known in Colombia at that time, equine therapy, to children with different health conditions. Involving professions from other disciplines such as doctors, physiotherapists and psychologists, they managed to help many children, and at the same time impacted the lives of many low-income families. In this conversation, Mona gave us a master class on what equine therapy is, what conditions are treated through this technique, what is the responsibility of a person who wants to be a facilitator, what horses are used and many more aspects. She also talked to us about the benefits of early contact of children with horses and it was a talk that blew our minds with all that we learned; we know you will enjoy it as much as we did.
